Katherine Dionysius is a curator, writer and editor, who works as Curator at QUT Galleries and Museums. From 2013 to 2018, she coordinated projects for 89plus, an international, curatorial research project co-curated by Simon Castets and Hans Ulrich Obrist. Katherine has curated exhibitions and public art projects for Brisbane City Council, Outer Space, and Boxcopy. She served on the board at Outer Space from 2017 to 2019, and co-directed the art collective, Current Projects, from 2011 to 2013.
Through 89plus, Katherine delivered projects at MoMA PS1 (New York), Centre Pompidou (Paris), Musée d'Art Moderne de la Ville de Paris (Paris), Serpentine Galleries (London), The LUMA Foundation (Zurich), Museo Jumex (Mexico City), Museu de Arte Moderna (Rio de Janeiro), Google Cultural Institute (Paris), Moderna Museet (Stockholm), Art Basel (Hong Kong and Miami), and the Shanghai Project (Shanghai), among others.
Katherine's writing has been published by Kaleidoscope Magazine, Art + Australia, Eyeline, Das Platforms, QUT Art Museum, Metro Arts and Boxcopy. She has contributed to the publication of books and catalogues by Musée d'Art Moderne de la Ville de Paris, Moderna Museet, Fondation Cartier, The LUMA Foundation, 89plus and QUT Art Museum.
In 2017, Katherine completed the Columbia Publishing Course and a publishing mentorship at Swiss Institute (New York) as part of the Lord Mayor's Creative Fellowships supported by Brisbane City Council. She holds a Bachelor of Creative Industries (Visual Arts) with First Class Honours from Queensland University of Technology (Brisbane).
